Yesterday I practiced some of Adigun Sipho's Capoeira technique. This was a response to a round punch. The sequence went as follows: esquiva lateral, horizontal elbow to the floating ribs, vertical elbow to the thigh, and tesoura (my addition). The original technique included a foot drag. Since this is technically "grappling" range, I thought that it could be useful to put my opponent on their back.

I've been too busy of late to do any significant training. Most of what I've done has been spontaneous and brief. I have been doing a lot of close quarter stuff. This is mostly been WC/CT, with a little CLF. I haven't done much Capoeira, as I'm holding off for the start of my training with a new Capoeira group, whose principle focus is self-defense.

Today I practiced some Wing Chun techniques on the dummy. This included high and low attacks, moving and attacking from the outside, and sweeps.

Today my Kali class was cancelled. So I had my own class.

First I practiced a mix of Kali drills. Most of the drills was stuff that I've learned over the last month at the Respect Center (M. Perry's Kali system). The rest was some Inosanto Kali technique. This included the 12 basic strikes, six blocks, and stick strips (M. Perry stuff).

Wing Chun:
Trained some technique from the Wooden Dummy form. I'm exploring the utility of these techniques for blocking inside strikes (hooks, upper-cuts, low jab, etc.). I also practiced some basic fighting movements.

Choy Lay Fut:
I practiced using a parry (Kam) to block a straight punch, while moving laterally to do Yum Tsop to the groin. I followed up with a Sao Choy.
