The fact that capoeira was born in resistance to white oppression is what makes it most attractive to me.

an underrated concept, but very important. it is like three card monte with the whole body, mind, and spirit. to me this is the simplicity and the secret of the art.

I feel you. Sometimes I wish I could express to those who doubt the efficacy of Capoeira how malicia really could get at them and whatever they bring to the table...but if I expressed that to them, I'd be giving away the secret weapon...soooo...I just chill in quiet knowing...

Personally, I find the history of resistance in Capoeira enriching. I love how creative it allows you to be while expressing yourself. I'm getting ready to start my first week of lessons, so I'll have to get back to you with my complete answer...
