This a picture of the Simba Wachanga of the Organization Us (L.A.) from the late 1960s. Martial arts training (principally Asian arts) was one part of their training in addition to Kawaida, marksmanship, etc.

I know the image, however I'm not sure how this represents the "1st" African art in the U.S. There was a spattering of indigenous African styles still present in the U.S. at the time.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE INTERNATIONALLY THE MOST POPULAR NON-ASIAN MARTIAL ART SAMOAN LIMA LAMA WEARS THE STANDARD KARATE UNIFORM. AND REMEMBER THE CROSS BODY WRAP STYLE IS MOORISH (OURS) CULTURALY SO EVEN IF YOU THINK ITS NEW IT ALL COMES BACK TO US THE ORIGINAL.
